VetTechPrograms.org is an independent educational publishing website. We are not owned or operated by any college, university, licensing board, or government agency. Our mission is to help students find accredited veterinary technician programs across the United States.

1. Information We Collect

You provide directly when submitting forms: Name, email, phone number, ZIP code, education level, program of interest, and intended enrollment year.

Collected automatically: IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and referring URL — collected through cookies and analytics tools (Google Analytics).

From third parties: Schools and lead network partners may share information about your interactions with them.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Connect you with schools and programs you request information about
• Respond to your inquiries
• Improve Site content and user experience
• Send relevant program and career resources you have requested
• Prevent fraud and comply with legal obligations

3. How We Share Your Information

• With schools and partners — When you submit a form, your information may be shared with one or more schools, educational institutions, or authorized enrollment partners that match your requested program
• With service providers — Hosting, analytics (Google), and lead delivery partners (Esyoh)
• For legal reasons — To comply with law or protect rights and safety In business transfers — If our business is sold or merged

We do not sell your personal information in the traditional sense, but California law may treat our sharing with schools as a “sale.” California residents can opt out (see Section 7).

4. Editorial Independence

Compensation received from partner schools does not influence our editorial reviews, program rankings, or educational content. Our content is researched independently from primary sources including the AVMA Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities (CVTEA), the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and state veterinary licensing boards.

5. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies for Site functionality, Google Analytics, and conversion tracking. We may display advertising through Google or other advertising partners that may use cookies to personalize advertisements. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work properly.

We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a valid opt-out request under California law. Except where required by law (such as GPC signals), our Site does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals because no consistent industry standard exists.

6. Data Retention

We keep form submissions for up to 24 months and analytics data for up to 26 months. Information required for legal compliance or to resolve disputes is retained as long as required by law.

7. Third-Party Links

Our Site contains links to third-party websites including schools, lead networks, and resource pages. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit.

8. Your Privacy Rights

You have the right to:

• Correct inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your information (subject to legal exceptions where retention is required by law or to resolve disputes)
• Opt out of marketing communications
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of your information (California residents)

To exercise these rights, email privacy@vettechprograms.org. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

California residents: Click Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information or email us. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising their privacy rights.

Other state residents: Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Iowa, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have similar rights — contact us to exercise them.

EEA residents: If you are located in the European Economic Area, you may have additional rights regarding access, portability, restriction, and objection to processing under applicable law. Contact us to exercise these rights.

9. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Affiliate Disclosure

VetTechPrograms.org may receive compensation when visitors submit form inquiries to partner schools. This does not affect our editorial content or the accuracy of information we provide. See Section 5 for our editorial independence statement.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy occasionally. Material changes will be announced on the Site homepage. Your continued use after updates constitutes acceptance.
